Rain rain go to spain

I'm stranded...

It's raining like there's no tomorrow, and i'm stranded...

Of course, as places to get stranded go, the net lab's not a bad place... But i prefer to be sitting at a window with a book when it rains...

I love the smell of rain-soaked earth...

I feel euphoria... euphorious?? euphoriatic?? Whatever, i'm darned happy...

I just feel really homesick at times like this... I remember those countless afternoons sitting in the veranda, watching people running about trying to find cover...

Oh man!! It's really COMING DOWN!! No visibility beyond a few meters... And here i figured it would have died down by the time i started on this post... Bad week for my water-proof jacket to lose it's water-proof layer...

Well at least i don't have a test tomorrow morning... I can manage the afternoon's paper well enough...

So what's been going on with me... Lemme see...

Someone said i had too many girls in my life... :D :D Well i really cracked up over that one... I have a few female friends(or as i like to put it, "friendees"), and a few male friends(now that just sounds wierd...). I mean "close" friends...

Though i wonder how others define a close friend...? Friends you spend a lot of time with? Friends you want to spend a lot of time with? Friends you trust enough to share your secrets with?? Or people who care enough to listen... I don't know... It's very difficult to say...

I have very few friends i spend much time with in person... It's a pretty isolated existence out here, though i DO get out to go shopping now and then... :P So i guess my close friends are those i wish i could hang out with... Sad really... But then i was never really a very sociable person... Hopefully, it'll be different when i join up for my master's somewhere...

It's just very difficult to hang on to old friends when you rarely meet... I lost quite a few when i switched schools... People i was inseparable from since my 3rd or 4th standard... That's one of the things i hate about college... I mean, there are many things i don't like about this place, but only a few things that i really hate...

I guess it's true what they say... Long distance relationships are doomed from the start...

Man this is depressing!! And i started off so well too... :)

Oh well... i'll save the cheery posts for another day... Now that the rain's slowed up a bit, i'm making a dash for the hostel...

Later ffolks(that's two small f's. As in, 'Sir Jasper ffinch-ffarrowmere')!!

have you noticed the way leaves seem more pure and i dunno...more happy?

it's really magical,i have to admit.

i really miss my nokia 1100.my life has been going downhill ever since that doomed motorola made it's nefarious entrance.cell phone karma is not working in my favour at all.

well,i think the possibility that we have met is remote except if you had studied in p.s in which case you may have noticed a certain braces wearing girl four years your junior.

no,i dont think you know me.

p.s is it true that nokia has stopped production of its 1100?

and a correction.

all females DO not have an ingrained sense of fashion.

it is so unfair on females like me who wear tracks and sneakers perpetually.you are not considered a girl if you wear comfortable clothes.

annoyed.

Yup!! I love it when it rains... Especially when i'm travelling... Everything looks a lot greener afterwards...

And i really regret switching to my nokia 6060 too... the 1100 was pretty much indestructible... even after it'd been run over, it only got a crack on the screen... Good ol' times... :D And i certainly HOPE they haven't stopped production!! though i did hear something of the sort...

And i wasn't the most outgoing of people in school, so unless we actually met for some reason, i probably wouldn't have noticed you... i'm not a very observant fellow, you see... :) so you're in... 12th now??

As to the fashion issue... i always felt that the girls i've hung out with(inclusive of family) were all majorly fashion conscious... But then, not only am i majorly indecisive, but i also hate shopping with a vengence(bad combination)... So i guess anyone seemed better in comparison... But your point is duly noted, thank you. :)

yeah i don't think i knew you either..i just came across blogs of people who i remembered got some award at the annual days and you were on their blog list so i figured you must have belonged to that batch.

yess,i am in twelfth.living a zombie like existence and hoping the darned boards would get over soon.

yeah i agree, most girls are so ooh-la-la that its a smear on the whole gender.

when you are lying in bed and reading a book and its raining outside, you just wish you could say "hold it!!" and stay that way forever.

sigghh.

Ahhh yes... the board exam blues.... Strange how it's so different for different people... I loved my years in 11th and 12th(despite all the exams), and college seems a little drab in comparison... But maybe that's just Trichy talking... :) What are your plans after 12th??

And yes, the rain's brilliant... And we're having showers here every evening and every night. It's like clockwork... And till it rains, the heat is murderous... Very odd...

And you saw my link on someone's blogroll?? I wasn't really aware i was on anybody's list... Where did you find it?

okay so THAT'S the blogroll.gosh,i am so bad at this computer stuff.i think way back i saw you on manasi's blogroll.i stress 'i think'.

i can't wait to get out of school because i am stuck in this lousy class studying stuff i don't really like which deal with everything but the law which is what i want to do after twelfth.

lucky you, having rains every night! it rains here sporadically which is to say it goes nuts for a few days and then completely stops.hmph.

i just went through your archives.

your open confessions of vulnerability are slightly disconcerting.

Law huh?? Whoa... I was going to write it too... then i decided to be conventional and go for engg... :)

And you saw those posts huh?? :D Well, it's not about the revelations really... I just get this strange satisfaction out of putting stuff down on paper or er... a keyboard. And once in a while i put up some of the stuff for everyone to see. :) So you can imagine what kinda stuff i haven't put up... :D And besides, i don't really mind people knowing... No big deal...

So disconcerting is... good.

yeah i get it.i have seven huge journals, carefully hidden from prying eyes.

i am slightly neurotic about confessions.

hey i have a question.a loaded one.

do you enjoy engineering?:)

Shazz said...

Ahhhh... Well i wouldn't say loaded... Because pretty much everyone i know, in every field of study, has told me that their course sucks... I think it's the prerogative of the college student to complain... That said, i guess engineering IS a little dry... A lot of it is a little boring, but there are occasional interesting subjects... See, i kinda resented my subject because i was forced to take it, but now i've found some stuff that i actually enjoy, i'm going to do my master's in the same field... Despite the fact that i could do something else if i wanted... :)

Why do you ask?? Having doubts??

Anonymous said...

well,it is good that you have found your calling,so to speak.i was asking because you said you decided to be conventional and i wanted to know if you were regretting it now.

as for me,nope:) no doubts at all.i have wanted to be a lawyer since i was eleven and i don't want to do anything else in life.except travel.AND bungee jump.AND somehow burgle landmark:)

Shazz said...

Well at least i've done two out of three... Though of course there's a lot more traveling left to do... ;)

And yes, i did have some regrets... I had actually been planning to do physics and had even thought of law, but you know... engineering is like the family profession... But i worked out an alternate happy ending, so all's well... :)

And i'd love to know how it all works out for you. Therefore, if you are so inclined, i am on facebook and orkut as "Anirudh Shastry"(i'm not quite sure what my name's displayed as on the blog)... No pressure :)

Anonymous said...

i used to be on orkut but too many freaks adding me and scrapping me all the time so i left.

how about i mail you? is your id the one on your profile?

Shazz said...

Aaaahhh... The perks of being a boy... No weird creeps bugging you everyday for "frenship"... Or at least, you'd think so wouldn't you... Let's just say that um... homosexuals are well represented on orkut too... ;) :D :D

Yup... my email's anirudh.shastry@gmail.com

And i check it regularly(trichy is very very boring you should know)... so mail away!!
