Shuffle

Have you heard this song? Every two weeks or so, i hear a song on the radio, in a pub or a restaurant, or on someone else's ipod, and i get madly obsessed by it. The tune stays in my head for the two weeks or so(till i find another song) and i end up listening to it over and over again as often as i can. Every song that i latch on to thusly, i do so because it has touched me for some reason. So why this one? Well... the obvious answer would me that i need somebody to lean on :)

I used to hope that one day I would be someone that my friends and family could trust, confide in, help solve their problems :) I guess we all have to grow up some time, and part of growing up is facing the disappointment of ambitions and hopes abandoned, realising that we can't be all that we'd hoped to be; kind, compassionate, brave, intelligent, successful, resourceful, eloquent, athletic, good-looking, popular, self-confident, charming, loved... I guess we settle for what little we can achieve.

Very sad that sounds. So i hope it's not true. :)

Now this next one(embedding is disabled so you'll have to use the link. sorry.) is 'La Mer' by Charles Trenet. Lovely song methinks. For those of you who don't know that smatter of french, 'la mer' means 'the sea', or as also often used, 'the seaside', 'beach' in our lingo. When i saw that warm, sunny beach and the azure waters, i felt terribly homesick for the ol' 4th seaward beach. Call me crazy(and i know some of you will), but somehow, Bangalore isn't turning out to be as brilliant a place i hoped. Not that i ever expected it to surpass Chennai, but i figured it wouldn't be all that far behind. :P Anyway, it must be the lack of things to do during weekends that's getting to me. No doubt i'll warm up to it soon enough :)
