Aaaargh!!

Oh man!!

It's harder to imagine more clichés packed into one 90 minute stretch than in the last two movies i saw...

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull - You would be hard pressed to find a more clichéd movie but man was it fun!! I don't care if it was the same russians with the same accented english, led by the same russian baroness, and Indy, with just his whip, basically defeats an army which might have made even rambo pause and think... It was brilliant cliché!! It's the kind of thing that people pay good money to watch time and again, as opposed to movies that people would pay good money to avoid. Speaking of which, the second movie i saw in the last week...

27 Dresses - (Here's where the title of the post comes in)Aaaaargh!! I figured it wouldn't disturb me if my sis watched the movie on the tv while i sat with my laptop. I mean hey, i could just concentrate on my comp, right? :| Despite having watched it only haltingly, i understood the whole damn thing! Poor, sad, female is working her ass off for everyone else and being the all-around nice guy... Everyone's mean to her, including the fates themselves. Then comes this newspaper reporter who hits on her in order to get some story. He doesn't tell her he's a reporter, he falls in love with her, is debating whether to print the hideously embarrassing article, which through some unfortunate series of events, ends up getting printed anyway. She is(you guessed it) hideously embarrassed and humiliated, hates the guy cos he "used" her, and runs away to nurse her wounds. He stops by to explain it's all a mistake, but she spurns him(damn right, i say!! What an asshole :P). And a few weeks later suddenly, magically, realises that she loves him(oh my god, what a despo female!!), and goes and falls at his f***ing feet!!

And we all live happily ever after. (puke)

The only moderately good scene in the movie is where Katherine Heigl completely humiliates her sister in front of everyone and breaks up her wedding(Woohoo!)(Yeah, big surprise, i'm rooting for the hot blonde babe :P).

Speaking of which, the only thing that might have made the movie bearable would have been the usually smoking-hot Ms. Heigl. Unfortunately, they turned her into some plain, sad looking female who they want us to feel pity for...

What a waste!!

p.s. I normally have a 'no review' policy, but i just happened to be a little frustrated by all the crappy new films released this summer.
