Bangalore

This post is supposed to be an attempt at recounting my experiences in Bangalore. Not ALL of them, just the last time i went, which was for Unmaad'06 . Its just that lately my moods been swinging from depressed to suicidal and to keep sane, i have to make periodic trips back to my laptop for a dose of FRIENDS or another 500 pages of the book i'm currently reading. Its like Green Lantern and his recharging his ring every 24 hours thing. If you've read em, you'll get what i'm talking about.

Anyway, It was nice. Not everyone had shown up for the first day so i had plenty of time to roam around the campus. Its was like a gigantic maze at first, but i soon learnt my way around. I seem to have a knack for it. Everybody else were still roaming around looking confused at the end of the fest. :) I don't know how to describe the campus really. Its green and huge and plush. It kinda looks like a castle actually. Everything is connected and all the uildings are made of the huge blocks of stone that castles are made of. And theres ivy growing on most walls. But the phrase which i heard the most no. of times was 'CS map' , and i gotta agree, its like the counterstrike map, aztec. Pretty cool. I think i was most surprised though when i stumbled over a Cafe Coffee Day in a corner of the campus during my stroll. Not bad at all!

The events were fun. I just ended up going with whoever was left over after the teams were made.(Thats another thing i don't have! A fixed team for lits.) Though as it turns out, that wasn't such a bad thing. We did win 5,000 bucks at the event. :D Not to mention that as a last-minute team, we also won the wtgw at NLS. Still, it'd be nice. Anyway, yeah it was some good fun. Especially the part where Cyrus Broacha held the infomals and (surprisingly) the JAM in his t-shirt and shorts. :) He didn't have a clue as to how a JAM should be held and he messed it up SO bad that they eventually cancelled the event and split the cash among the finalists. But there were hardly a few minutes during the show when i wasn't laughing. :) I guess it might not have been so amusing if i'd been on stage, but i think it was worth scrapping the jam just to see the participant's faces when he went nuts. :D

The concert, it must be said was AWFUL! Jal that is. Not Jethro Tull. That was pretty good. But jal made a horrible mess out of the whole thing.

The short excursion we made into the city was fun too! Not so for many others i'm afraid. :) A good many of them lost their way at one time or another, something i am spared by my knowledge of the city(though rudimentary). So they've all decided to stick to me the next time we head into Bangalore. :)

All in all, it was a good weekend. Hope to find another culturals soon, though i think thats it for this sem unless people find it worth it to go to NITC or NITK.

Well now will ya look at the time. Its time for me to head back and recharge!

See ya'll later folks! ;)
